The wait is nearly over. On Friday night March 5th in Visalia, California the much talked about and highly anticipated Playboy Fight Night® (PBFN) live event will provide fight fans in Central California with their initial offering of the very best in combat sports entertainment. PBFN blends the sports of boxing, mixed martial arts and kickboxing with Playmates, live DJ’s and the Centerfold dancers in the ultimate fight club meets the night club setting. All patrons in attendance can have their pictures taken with the Playmates on multiple red carpet areas, and watch the action in a very fun, and chic setting. Expect the term Fight party to be brought to life!
In the main event of the all mixed martial arts pro/am event on March 5th at the Visalia Convention Center former WEC light heavyweight champion and local favorite, Doug “the Rhino” Marshall (11-3) will look for his fifth consecutive victory since dropping his WEC championship to Brian Stann in 2008. Marshall is known for his explosive knockout power with either hand and for his durability. Standing in the way is BJ “The Beast” Lacy, of Las Vegas, NV a very heavy handed and athletic middleweight in his own right. In the co-main event, two welterweights known for their striking prowess Steve “Danger” Ramirez (7-5) and Marcus Gaines (6-9) meet in what promises to be a stand up war of attrition.
Fans in Northern California will be treated to the second installment of PBFN as the Feather Falls casino Oroville, CA will host the event on Saturday night March 27th. In one of the featured bouts two exciting young MMA featherweight prospects meet in an intriguing fight that finds both men looking to get back on the winning track. A.J. Fonseca (4-2) of Richmond, CA meets Mike Christensen (4-1) with both men coming off of losses in their previous bouts and promise to leave it all in the ring. The 10 bout card is loaded with up and coming talent in tough match ups. In the boxing bouts former K1 World Grand Prix Champion, Carter Williams (2-0) looks to keep his boxing record unblemished and popular San Jose fighter Arturo Quintero (15-4) returns to the ring after a three year layoff against opponents to be announced.
Tickets for the March 5th event go on sale Monday, February 1st at the Visalia Convention Center box office, all tickets.com outlets and at Visalia’s MMA gear store located at 2935 South Mooney Blvd. All general admission tickets are priced at $30 and VIP cage-side Playmate party seats are $125. Each floor party seat includes five drink tickets which can be redeemed for any beverage of choice.
Tickets for March 27th are on sale now through the Feather Falls casino box office in person or over the phone by calling 1-877-652-4646. Tickets are priced at $40, $50 and $60 for this 21 and up event.
